The rain here is warm and very wet, big drops with a definite impact force and sloppy detonation. Oh well, I suppose Vancouverites bring their weather along with them.
Tokyo is as cool as I remember it; alive and throbbing well into the night. 11 pm is happy hour and the streets are full. Our hotel is In the heart of Shinkuku, the notorious party land and red light district.
Our hosts “A&F Country” have their headquarters and a small flagship store located a block away from our hotel. Fantastic to have local knowledge at hand in a city that may as well be on Mars.
Food in Shinjuku is delicious and abundant, too bad we leave for Okinawa tomorrow morning!
So here we are: 10 hours of flying (bad movies, decent food and zero sleep). We breezed thru customs and were well on our way to the train to tokyo when Doug set off an alarm and disabled the escalator. Needless to say, hilarity ensued. In the photo you will see Doug carrying his gear off his cart and down the escalator, as the police come up the stairs.
10 minutes in Japan and we’re already breaking stuff.
Oh man this is gonna be fun, I can just tell!
For the next month I will be updating our Japanese 2010 trip in the Voyageurs page. Please have a look as this should be a very unique adventure! As long as I have wireless or service for my iPhone, there should be updates.
